There are many laws that attract and protect International Investors in the Dominican Republic. Some of the highlights include:
- Special Investment "Green Card" whereby an investor and his spouse and children can obtain a Resident Card in less than 45 days;
- Exoneration of duties on imported personal goods;
- Partial exoneration on motor vehicle duties;
- Real estate tax exemption, on the first property acquired;
- 50% exemption on mortgage taxes, when the lender is regulated by the Monetary and Financing Law;
- 50% exemption of Real estate taxes of all subsequent purchases, when applicable;
- Exeption of all taxes on dividends generated domestically;
- Exemption of 50% of capital gains taxes, when the investor is mayority shareholder of the company of which the tax is due, al long as the corporation is not a commercial or industrial entity.
