American Eagle, American Airline’s regional carrier, recently began daily non-stop flights from Miami to La Romana, situated in the important eastern region of the country.

Daily Miami-La Romana Flights
The airline is using an ERJ-145 aircraft with capacity for 50 passengers. Departure from Miami is at 1:05 pm, arriving in La Romana International Airport two hours and 15 minutes later. Departure from the Dominican Republic is 3:55 pm, arriving in Miami at 6:30 pm. “La Romana is the official airport for Casa de Campo, a very popular destination for our Miami passengers,” said Peter Dolara, American Airlines vice president in Miami. He described the Dominican Republic as a “Caribbean paradise.” “This daily direct flight from our Miami airport terminal will help strengthen ties in the business, travel, tourism and leisure communities. It will also express confidence in the city of La Romana as a tourism de- stination, and will address the quali- ty of our facility as an international airport “said Luis Emilio Rodríguez, director La Romana’s airport.

Amsterdam-Punta Cana

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently announced that beginning next October it will begin weekly flights between Amsterdam, the Dutch ca- pital, to Punta Cana’s International Airport, situated in the easternmost region of the Dominican Republic. The carrier will use aircraft with capacity for 285 passengers, 24 in first class and 261 in economy. Flights are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays, at 10 am, from Schiphol Airport. Scheduled time of arrival in Punta Cana will be 7:30 pm, with a stopover in Havana, Cuba. KLM Royal Dutch, based in Am- sterdam, is the fourth largest carrier in Europe and operates a wide range of national and international flights from its hub at Schilphol Airport. KLM president and CEO, Peter Hartman, said that the Dominican Republic is a wonderful holiday destina- tion with a great demand in the Dutch market. He stressed that the climate and quality of the hotels make the country an ideal destination.
